A check presentation took place early Thursday morning at First National Bank in Norfolk.

The Riverfront Committee received a $100,000 check from First National Bank for the North Fork Developmental Project.

The mission of the North Fork Developmental Project is to "create a recreational, residential, entertainment, and retail/ business corridor along the North Fork River to enhance the quality of life for the City of Norfolk and Northeast Nebraska."

City Administrator Andy Colvin said he appreciates the help within the community in trying to get this project done in the future.

"We're very happy to have that partnership with our local financial institution. We really appreciate their help in trying to get this riverfront project completed," Colvin added.

A spokesperson for First National Bank, Marci Nelson, says the bank is thrilled to be able to help the community grow.

"FNB is so excited to be a part of this partnership with the development of our downtown area," Nelson said. " This has been a vision for a lot of people for a lot of years."
