BLOOMFIELD, Neb. --  An organization that promotes women's education is helping provide relief for displaced Ukrainians.

The P.E.O Bloomfield Chapter EM , which stands for philanthropic educational organization, is collecting donations for Ukraine and donating them to Orphan Grain Train.

P.E.O. has set a goal of packing four cargo planes with donations.

The organization set out to achieve this goal to help the many women and children that have been displaced by the war and have recruited multiple chapters of P.E.O around northeast Nebraska.

"We support women's issues and there are many women and children suffering. We have chapters of our P.E.O organization in about 15 cities in the northeast Nebraska area. We've reached out to them and to date, at least eight of them are doing similar projects," said Janet Gill, the President of the Bloomfield Chapter EM, P.E.O.

P.E.O is asking those who are interested in helping to donate diapers, toothbrushes, medical supplies, hygiene products, clothing, crayons, pencils, and notebooks.

There are 17 different locations in Bloomfield with collection boxes for donations including the grocery store, banks, churches, and schools.

Orphan Grain Train also takes financial donations. P.E.O asks you to write "Fill a cargo plane for Ukraine" in the memo section of a check to support the cause.

Already, one plane has been filled and left for Ukraine.
