Jury selection begins in Gleaton trial

Selection of jurors began Monday in the trial of DeShawn Gleaton, who stands accused of killing 29-year-old Hailey Christiansen.

MADISON, Neb. -- Jury selection began Monday in the trial of DeShawn Gleaton, Jr.

Gleaton is facing charges of first-degree murder, first-degree assault, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, use of a firearm to commit a felony, and tampering with a witness/informant/juror.

The 30-year-old Gleaton stands accused of killing 29-year-old Hailey Christiansen in Norfolk in July of 2020.

Judge James G. Kube is presiding over the case.
