VALENTINE, Neb. -- Outdoor Family Fun Day, scheduled for Saturday at Niobrara National Scenic River, has been cancelled due to predicted inclement weather and conditions. It will not be rescheduled this year, but organizers say the event is expected to return next August.

“This is a great event and we are quite disappointed we won’t be able to share it with the public. The forecasted rain and low temperatures, plus the very muddy conditions on Smith Falls Road, just don’t make it safe for the public” stated Superintendent Susan Cook with the National Park Service. “We felt it safer for all involved if we cancelled Outdoor Family Fun Day this year.”

Anyone with questions is asked to call the Niobrara National Scenic River at 402-376-1901.
