NORFOLK, Neb. -- There's a new way for residents of Norfolk to get around with North Fork Area Transit starting Monday.

North Fork Area Transit has launched NiteLift, a new service that offers evening, on-demand rides with curb-to-curb pickup and drop-off, similar to Uber.

NiteLift operates 7-days a week: Sunday through Wednesday from 6:30 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday from 6:30 p.m. through 2:00 a.m.

Riders can be picked up at any address within Norfolk city limits and travel to any destination within a 30-mile radius.

Rates within Norfolk are $5 per one-way trip, per person. Rates for trips outside the city of Norfolk incrementally increase based on the number of miles. A service and rate map is available at northforkareatransit.com/nitelift.

Riders can book a ride by calling 402-379-4595.

North Fork Area Transit said that Credit Card payments must be made at the time the ride is scheduled.

Rides with the NiteLift are guaranteed within 2 hours or less. Riders can also walk up to a parked NiteLift vehicle and request an immediate ride, based on the availability of the driver. Wheelchair-accessible vehicles are available upon request.
