NPS meal costs to return to normal after USDA waiver program discontinued
With a USDA program no longer being continued, the Norfolk Public Schools District is returning its lunches to pre-pandemic prices.
NORFOLK, Neb. -- With a USDA program no longer being continued, a northeast Nebraska school is returning its lunches to pre-pandemic prices.
Norfolk Public Schools announced Tuesday that due to the USDA no longer extending waivers covering the costs of schools meals, costs will return to normal.
Families of students who may be eligible for free or reduced price meals benefits must submit a new application each new school year to determine eligibility. School meal applications are available on the district website or by contacting Jeanette Holtz at 402-644-2500 Ext. 1140 or [email protected].
All households can apply for free or reduced price meals. An application must be completed in order to qualify for free or reduced school meals as well as fee waivers for other school fees. For households with income at or below the free meal guidelines, students can receive meals free of charge. For households with income at or below reduced meal guidelines, students can receive meals at a reduced price.
According to NPS, 2022-2023 meals prices will remain the same with no increases from previous years meal prices. The full list of prices can be found here.
