Stanton man drives 40 mph over limit, gets arrested for DWI

The Stanton County Sheriff's Office said they arrested a 37-year-old man for a DWI after pulling him over for going 40 mph over the limit.

STANTON, Neb. -- The Stanton County Sheriff's Office said they arrested a 37-year-old man for a DWI after pulling him over for going 40 mph over the limit. 

SCSO said they stopped 37-year-old Nathan Wietfeld of Stanton, for driving 105 mph in a 65 mph zone about 12 miles south of Stanton on Highway 57. 

Authorities reported that Wietfeld was found to be intoxicated and placed under arrest for a DWI. 

The Sheriff's Office said Wietfeld was booked for a felony third-offense DWI (above .150 percent BAC) after he failed a breath test by testing more than twice the amount of the legal limit to drive. 

Wietfeld was also charged with a speeding infraction and an open container of alcohol violation. 

The Sheriff's Office said he posted bond and will appear in court in October.
