Man reportedly shoots at woman and child in Dixon County

An Allen man was arrested for allegedly shooting at a woman and her child while outside her home.

PONCA, Neb. -- An Allen man was arrested for allegedly shooting at a woman and her child while outside her home.

The Dixon County Sheriff's Office said they arrested 35-year-old Andrew Chase, of Allen, on Friday with the help of the Nebraska State Patrol and Dakota County.

DCSO said they received a call around 4:30 p.m. on Friday from the female victim. The victim told officers that a pickup and trailer had reportedly drove past her home and fired a single shot at her and her child. The victim told the police that the truck reportedly belonged to Chase.

Officers said they inspected the area and found a bullet hole in the side of the residence.

According to authorities, NSP and the Dakota County Sheriff's Department helped take Chase into custody without incident after finding Chase at his residence.

Officials said Chase is being held at the Dixon County jail and being charged for use of a deadly weapon to commit a class 1C felony, class 1C felony unlawful discharge of a firearm, class 3A felony terroristic threats, class two misdemeanor criminal mischief, and class three misdemeanor disturbing the peace.
