NORFOLK, Neb. -- Round two of the first ever 'Coolest Thing Made in Nebraska' tournament now has eight contestants. 

NE Manufacturing Alliance said that manufacturers, students, and all Nebraskans are invited to vote for their favorite Nebraska-made product in a head-to-head, bracket style competition through October 9. Online voting for the competition is available at

The following Nebraska manufacturers and their featured products have advanced to round two of the tournament.

· Grain Weevil, Aurora

· EagleSpan, Behlen Mfg. Co., Columbus

· Pivot Walker, Chief Fabrication, Grand Island

· MIRA, Virtual Incision, Lincoln

· New York City Transit Authority R211 Rail Car, Kawasaki, Lincoln

· Mars 2020 Mission Ducts, Royal Engineered Composites, Minden

· Road Zipper, Lindsay Corporation, Omaha

· The Rambler, Handlebend, O’Neill

Round one collected more than 4,600 votes. Voting for round two begins Tuesday, Sept. 20. The final round will end at 11:59 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 9. Each contestant has submitted a photo and description to aid in voting.

NE Manufacturing Alliance said only one vote per person per matchup per round will be allowed. The remaining voting timeline follows.

Round 2 (Top 8): Tuesday, Sept. 20 – Sunday, Sept. 25
Semifinals (Top 4): Tuesday, Sept. 27 – Sunday, Oct. 2
Finals (Top 2): Tuesday, Oct. 4 – Sunday, Oct. 9

The champion will be announced Oct. 11 at the NE Chamber’s Manufacturing Summit in La Vista, where the finalists will also be invited to display their products.

The contest, hosted by the NE Manufacturing Alliance and powered by the NE Chamber, celebrates the state’s thriving manufacturing industry with Nebraska residents, students, educators, community leaders, manufacturers and especially, the vast number of Nebraskans working in manufacturing every day.
