Tournament injury abruptly ends Haiby's Nebraska basketball career

After sustaining an injury in the second round of the Women's NIT, 5th year senior Sam Haiby's Nebraska career comes to an abrupt end. Haiby said on twitter that she remains 'forever grateful for the opportunity.'

LINCOLN, Neb. -- After sustaining an injury in the second round of the Women's NIT, 5th-year senior Sam Haiby's Nebraska career comes to an abrupt end.

Haiby said on Twitter that she remains "forever grateful for the opportunity."

Haiby averaged 10.0 points per game or better for each of her five years she spent with the Huskers.

She appeared in 22 games this season.

Nebraska is preparing to take on Kansas in the third round of the WNIT Thursday, March 23, at 6:30 p.m.
