NORFOLK, Neb. -- A festival to celebrate Cinco de Mayo in Northeast Nebraska has been pushed back.

The Chamber of Commerce in Norfolk announced its Cinco de Mayo event has been delayed due to rain and forecasted precipitation.

Instead, the event will take place next week on May 12. The event would feature dancing, music, food, and a variety of other events.

Cinco de Mayo, or the fifth of May, commemorates the 1862 Battle of Puebla in which the Mexican army pushed back French forces.
