A 31-year-old was arrested in Norfolk for drug charges over the weekend, according to police.
NORFOLK, Neb. -- A 31-year-old was arrested in Norfolk for drug charges over the weekend, according to police.
The Norfolk Police Division said they arrested 31-year-old Dominique Gonzalez for an arrest warrant and for possessing a controlled substance.
NPD said they got a trespassing call around 6:53 p.m. on Sunday, in the 1800 block of Vicki Lane.
According to authorities, a female had been banned from the property and had come back with Gonzalez to retrieve property from an abandoned vehicle.
NPD said they spoke with both the female and Gonzalez.
Initially, police said that Gonzalez told them he didn't have an I.D. and verbally gave them a name and birth date.
NPD said they name and birthday he gave them turned out to be false and they were able to identify him as Gonzalez.
When checking Gonzalez's record, NPD said they found that he had an active Madison County arrest warrant.
Gonzalez was taken into custody for the warrant.
NPD said that following the arrest, they searched Gonzalez and found a baggie of methamphetamine from his pants pocket, and two glass pipes from a backpack he had.
Gonzalez was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
He was held in the Norfolk City Jail and was later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
