OMAHA, Neb. -- May was drier than any month in its recorded history. 

The National Weather Service in Omaha said May was the driest on record in Omaha. 

Nebraska's largest city saw just 17-hundredths of an inch of rain in May, almost four and a half inches below the average. 

Omaha saw just 4.3 inches of rain in March to May period, over five inches lower than normal. 

Norfolk also saw its driest spring on record, with just 2.4 inches of rain from March to May. 

Meanwhile, Lincoln saw its second driest May on record and has only had 39 inches of precipitation over the last two years, the fourth driest two-year period ever.
