NORFOLK, Neb. -- Over the weekend, Norfolk Police said they were called to a home for a physical disturbance between a man and woman, where the man had a knife.

Officers were called to a Norfolk residence around just before midnight Saturday.

When they approached the residence, officers with the Norfolk Police Division said they saw two children looking out of the second story window crying.

NPD said officers knocked on the door, and 27-year-old Dylan Osborne of Norfolk.

Police reported that Osborne had his right arm behind his back, and they reportedly ordered him to show his right hand.

When he complied, police said he was holding a large kitchen knife. NPD said they told him to drop the knife, but instead he slammed the door on them.

Officers said they tried to enter the home, but Osborne was not preventing their entry.

NPD said they eventually had contact with him again and arrested him.

Osborne was reportedly verbally threatening officers at this time.

Officials said they interviewed the woman who stated that she and Osborne had been in an argument.

It was reported that during the argument, Osborne pushed her making her trip and fall, then hit the bathtub.

Police said she sustained injuries to her right hand and arm. Officers said the children were present during the altercation.

Osborne was arrested on charges for third-degree domestic assault and child abuse. He was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison.
