NORFOLK, Neb. -- One person is recovering from burns suffered in a northeast Nebraska house fire.
It happened at a home on Michigan Avenue shortly after 7:00 p.m.
Norfolk Fire officials say a grease fire on the stove ignited. Crews were able to get the fire under control in about five minutes, but not before one person suffered what were called minor burns.
The fire did about $6,000 worth of damage, according to Norfolk Fire Capt. Lannce Grothe.
Norfolk Fire says it serves as a reminder to Nebraskans to keep an eye on the stove while cooking.
