O'NEILL, Neb. -- The 1983 U.S. Naval Academy Class stopped in O'Neill during their bike journey across America to raise funds to support other veterans.

The "Ride Across America" participants made their stop in O'Neill around 3:00 p.m. on Friday and will be leaving at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday.

The event started on Aug. 21 in Whidbey Island, Washington, and is scheduled to end on Oct. 5 in Annapolis, Maryland. They are celebrating the 40 years of service and friendship since their graduation.

The participants will also be doing 22 pushups every day to bring attention to the many suicide prevention resources available for service members.

Donations for the different veteran fundraisers that they are involved in can be made at their website.
