NORFOLK, Neb. -- "Brogi's may the journey of success continue in the years to come, wishing you and your team a happy 20th anniversary," said Norfolk Chamber Ambassador Heather Weaver.

Local mom-and-pop coffee shop Brogi's celebrated 20 years of business here in Norfolk after its opening in 2003.

The Italian-themed coffee shop was modeled after part-owner Troy Uhlir's brother-in-law's shop in Kearney, making it the first drive-through coffee shop in town.

The business reflects its family-owned history through its name.

"We use the name Brogi's, it's Marg's mother's maiden name, so that was kind of cool. I was watching VH1 and saw timeless hits and I thought timeless Italian expresso that would be kind of cool," said Owner Troy Uhlir.

Over the last 20 years, Brogi's has managed to keep up with the ever-changing dynamic of coffee, as more coffee experts are willing to try different flavor concoctions helping the business.

Uhlir said that despite being known for its multitude of coffee mixtures, they offer a vast menu of different beverages.

"I mean we've got something for everyone if you're not a coffee drinker," Uhlir said. "I get a lot of friends awe I just don't drink coffee and I say you know we got chai tea, we got smoothies, we got steamers, we got caramel apple ciders is a big favorite. So, it's kind of a catch-all for everyone."

Since its construction, Brogi's has become a hidden gem in town as Menard's now stands in front.

Although, its location doesn't hinder sales as well as the addition of new coffee shops.

"You know you look at the other concepts in town and everybody kind of has their unique flavor and you kind of get used to what you like, so with adding a few of the other coffee shops in town I think that we've kept our loyal customers and we snag those people that are on this end of town when they're here," Uhler said.

The anniversary celebration was concluded with a presentation from the Norfolk Chamber Ambassadors.

Brogi's is thankful for the community's support and looks forward to continuing its service.
