Sen. Dover is running for election
A state senator appointed by the governor is now seeking the stamp of approval of the voters for the first time.
NORFOLK, Neb. -- A state senator appointed by the governor is now seeking the stamp of approval of the voters for the first time.
Norfolk Senator Robert Dover announced on Monday that he's planning to run for election to the District 19 seat in the unicameral.
"I am proud of what I have accomplished on behalf of District 19 since my appointment, but there is still work to be done," Dover said.
Dover has been a state senator since July of 2022 when he was appointed by Former Gov. Pete Ricketts to replace Mike Flood, who resigned to run for the open seat he now currently holds in the U.S. House of Representatives.
In a news release, Dover said his candidacy has been backed by his two predecessors, both Flood and Former Senator Jim Scheer.
Mike Flood is the founder and an owner of Flood Communications and News Channel Nebraska.
