Knights claim 12th state title, shutout Chanticleers for three quarters

Norfolk Catholic scored 41 unanswered points in the final three quarters of play to beat the Ord Chanticleers 41-3 for the program's 12th state title.

LINCOLN, Neb. — Norfolk Catholic scored 41 unanswered points after falling behind early to propel the program to its 12th state title against Ord 41-3.

After the Chanticleers led 3-0 from a field goal in the first quarter, the Knights used a 21-point third quarter and 20-point fourth quarter to win the class C2 championship.

Quarterback Carter Janssen threw and ran for a touchdown on Tuesday and totaled 192 yards.

Max Hammond and Brandon Kollars added two touchdowns each with 96 yards between the two.

The Chanticleers offense was held to 146 total yards of offense with Aidan Ryschon running for 59 yards.

Norfolk Catholic head coach Jeff Bellar celebrated his 11th title at the helm of the Knights’ program.
