Madison County deputies make multiple arrests after traffic stop

Madison County Sheriff's deputies pulled over a vehicle east of Tilden, on Sunday, that led to several arrests and them finding drug-related items and a homemade explosive device.

TILDEN, Neb. -- Madison County Sheriff's deputies pulled over a vehicle east of Tilden, on Sunday, that led to several arrests and them finding drug-related items and a homemade explosive device.

Deputies pulled over a white Toyota 4Runner driven by 47-year-old Jerimiah Hupke of Tilden, who was found to be driving with a suspended license. 

He was arrested for the driving offense.

After searching the Toyota, deputies found drug-related items and stolen property from a recent residential burglary in Norfolk.

Acting on this information, deputies obtained a search warrant for Hupke's home in Tilden.

At Hupke's home, law enforcement found multiple drugs and drug-related items, as well as a homemade explosive device.

The Nebraska State Patrol Bomb Unit was called in to safely remove and dispose of the device.

The Sheriff's Office also reported, 35-year-old Christopher Tiedke of Tilden was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

Hupke faces charges for possession of stolen property and possession of a controlled substance, along with driving offense.

Both men are currently held at the Madison County Jail. The Madison County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate, with assistance from the NSP and Tilden Police Department.
