O'Neill house fire suspected to be arson, suspect arrested

O'NEILL, Neb. -- One person was arrested for arson in O'Neill following a a house fire on Sept. 15. 

The O'Neill Volunteer Fire Department and O'Neill Police Department responded to a residential fire in the 300 block of S Third St. around 12:35 a.m. Sunday. 

OPD said that during the investigation of the fire it was suspected to be arson, and they contacted the Nebraska State Fire Marshal to assist in the investigation. 

The fire was extinguished by the residents before law enforcement and fire department arrived. 

Officials said three of the residents later went to a local hospital where they were treated and released. 

OPD said they continued the investigation and they arrested 30-year-old Quinn Bailey-Kelly on O'Neill, later Sunday afternoon. 

Bailey-Kelly was detained in the Holt County Jail for first-degree arson and terroristic threats. 

Around 7 p.m., OPD, with the assistance from the Holt County Sheriff's Office, executed a search warrant at Bailey-Kelly's residence in O'Neill. 

OPD seized items from the home that were suspected to be in connection to the arson.
