Raiola looking to bounce back against #16 Indiana
LINCOLN, NEB. - While Dylan Raiola has dazzled Husker fans in his the first half of his freshman season, he showed his first signs of struggle against Rutgers completing just 13 of his 27 pass attempts.
To bounce back, Raiola will go up against a tough Indiana defense, in what’ will be a sold out crowd on Saturday morning, but Offensive Coordinator Marcus Satterfield says, his quarterback bounced back the minute he hit the locker room after defeating Rutgers.
“I mean he didn’t skip a beat,” Satterfield said. “Celebrated in the locker room after the game, some guys may be down, wasn’t that at all. Came back, ready to work in his open week, great preparation last week and that bled into this week.”
Raiola’s line against Rutgers read 13/27 for 134 yards and an interception, while also taking five sacks. Raiola says the feeling of the struggle in that game is motivating him even more for the final six games.
“For me, it felt like a last game of the season type deal,” Raiola said. “Just how it felt and how everything went down, but just know we have six weeks left to improve and keep going so I’m excited.”
Nebraska will take on the sixteenth-ranked Hoosiers who rank second in the Big Ten in total defense. Raiola says the Huskers will be have to be on their top for a lot of defensive looks.
“They’ve got a lot of great players and play a lot of different schemes,” Raiola said. “They’re hard to identify what they’re doing. It’ll be a good test, Big Noon kick off, I think our teams ready and built for this and we’re ready to get back to playing football.”
The Hoosiers enter 6-0, also in off a bye week.
Kick off is set for 11:00 a.m. CT on FOX.
