After 40 years of hard work, YMCA Executive Director Randy Hagedorn is retiring
NORFOLK, Neb. -- He has been a pre-school teacher, youth sports director, associates director, and a CEO for 27 years. Now, after 40 years of hard work, YMCA Executive Director Randy Hagedorn is retiring. Recently, he gave us a look back on their accomplishments and what he is most proud of while serving the community of Norfolk and the YMCA.
“We raised $14,000,000 to add on a field house, gyms, cardio area, wellness center, and a weight room," said Hagedorn. "This year we are going break $300,000 we raised annually. All those dollars will go to help under privileged kids and families that can’t afford a membership or a program. That can be anything like swim lessons, gymnastics or soccer. I am really proud that we raised that much money this year and hopefully we continue to.”
Randy said after retirement, he plans to catch his breath and do his best to enjoy it. To keep the blood flowing and stay somewhat active, he still plans to officiate high school and college football and basketball games. Starting Dec. 27, a new Executive director of Norfolk Family YMCA will be named.
