State chamber director to step down
One of the key voices in economic development is stepping down this year.
NEBRASKA -- One of the key voices in economic development is stepping down this year.
Nebraska Chamber of Commerce President Bryan Slone announced on Tuesday that he will be resigning once this year's legislative session ends in June.
Slone said in a statement that he doesn't intend to retire, but rather pursue what he called other significant professional opportunities.
Slone has been president of the State Chamber since 2018. He also ran unsuccessfully for Nebraska governor in 2014.
The Nebraska Chamber Board in the meantime has appointed a search committee to being a search for Slone's replacement.
They haven't announced a timeline, but say interested applicants can submit their resumes online.
