NORFOLK, Neb. -- Citizens of Norfolk will likely see fire personnel at Skyview Lake on Thursday for trainings, weather permitting.

The Norfolk Fire Division said they will be doing a training exercise at Skyview Lake on Thursday, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The City said that during the training, personnel will be in the water, and drones that are equipped with spotlights will be flying around the lake.

The exercise is designed to add to emergency response capabilities and to make sure the community is safe.

When NFD is done with the training, they will place barricades around a hole in the ice. The City and NFD asks that the public not remove or move those barricades because they are for safety purposes.

"Residents and visitors in the area are advised that this is a planned exercise, and there is no cause for alarm," said the press release from the City.

For any question, contact NFD at 402-844-2050.
