HASTINGS, Neb. — Hastings College is expanding its athletics program by adding three new varsity sports for the 2026-27 season.

Men’s and women’s swimming and diving will hit the pool in the winter, while women’s flag football takes the field in the spring.

Athletic Director Chris Clements says the additions meet growing demand and give more students the chance to compete.

The addition of the swimming and diving programs is made possible through a community partnership with the YMCA of Hastings, which will serve as the team's practice and competition facility.

Hastings College is launching national searches for head coaches, moving quickly to prepare for the programs’ debut next year.
