NORFOLK, Neb.-- New townhomes are one step closer to becoming a reality in Norfolk after a zoning change approval Tuesday.

The empty lot southwest of the intersection of South 16th Street and Park Avenue, by Westside Daycare and Grade School has been changed from a Office District to Multi-Family Residential in the hopes of putting in townhomes.

The City Council approved the request with some council members saying they think it would be a wonderful use for the land.

The applicants said they want to see more affordable housing in Norfolk.
