NORFOLK, Neb.-- New townhomes are one step closer to becoming a reality in Norfolk after a zoning change approval Tuesday.

The empty lot southwest of the intersection of South 16th Street and Park Avenue, by Westside Daycare and Grade School, has been changed from an Office District to Multi-Family Residential in the hopes of putting in townhomes.

The city council approved the request, with some council members saying they think it would be a wonderful use for the land.

The applicants said they want to see more affordable housing in Norfolk.
