For the Girls fundraiser to feature Kat Timpf, breast cancer survivor

NORFOLK, Neb. — A northeast Nebraska nonprofit focused on supporting women battling breast cancer is preparing for its annual fundraiser this spring.

For the Girls, Inc., a Norfolk-based organization, will host its “Hope, Humor & Healing” event on Thursday, March 19, 2026, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at The Stables in Norfolk.

The featured speaker this year is comedian, New York Times bestselling author and television personality Kat Timpf.

Timpf publicly shared in 2025 that she was diagnosed with breast cancer just hours before giving birth to her first child. In a social media announcement, she said doctors determined it was early-stage cancer. She later underwent treatment and has spoken about the experience.

Organizers say her experience and use of humor while undergoing treatment make her a fitting headliner for the event.

Timpf previously performed to sold-out shows in Norfolk in July 2025 while recovering from cancer treatment.

For the Girls supports women in northeast Nebraska diagnosed with breast cancer by helping fund medical, emotional and educational services. The nonprofit provides financial support to area health care providers and contributes to research.

Funds raised at the event remain local.

The evening will include a plated dinner and silent and live auctions. General admission tickets are $80 and are available at NorfolkForTheGirls.org
