'Everything was fine': Plane lands after report of possible engine failure
An aircraft landed Norfolk Regional Airport after what was deemed a false alarm Monday afternoon.
NORFOLK, Neb. -- An aircraft landed at Norfolk Regional Airport after what was eventually deemed a non-emergency Monday afternoon.
Authorities were called to the airport shortly after 2:30 p.m. after receiving reports of a potential engine problem with a small Cessna jet. Approximately 10 minutes later, the plane landed safely before rescue units arrived.
“It was our understanding after speaking with airport staff that the issue experienced while they were in the air was resolved,” Norfolk Fire Chief Tim Wragge said.
It’s unknown how many people were on board.
"We basically showed up and left," said Landon Grothe from the Norfolk Fire Division. "I'm not sure if that was protocol, calling it in, but everything was fine.
