Texas man arrested near Woodland Park on felony charges

A Texas man is facing charges after being arrested at a gas station in northeast Nebraska.

WOODLAND PARK -- A Texas man is facing charges after being arrested at a gas station in northeast Nebraska. 

The Stanton County Sheriff's Office said they had contact with a man sleeping in his car near the Little Store in Woodland Park Wednesday around 6:10 a.m. 

They said the man was found to be in possession of illegal drugs and an open container of alcoholic liquor. 

Stanton County Sheriff's Office said that the man gave a name that didn't match records, and his fingerprints were check on a mobile fingerprint device that showed he was actually someone else. 

The fingerprint instrument showed that the man, 32-year-old Danny Courtney Jr. was wanted in Texas. Courtney was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance (concentrated THC), possession of marijuana and criminal impersonation for providing a false identity and a Scurry County, Texas arrest warrant for a probation/sex offender violation. 

He was jailed, pending an initial court appearance and extradition proceedings.
