NORFOLK, Neb. -- Fire risk is not going away any time soon across the state of Nebraska.

Valley, Greeley, Nance, Sherman, Howard, Merrick, Polk, Dawson, Buffalo, Hall, Hamilton, York, Gosper, Phelps, Kearney, Adams, Clay, Fillmore, Furnas, Harlan, Franklin, Webster, Nuckolls, Thayer, Antelope, Pierce, Boone, Madison, Stanton, Cuming, Platte, Colfax, Dodge, Butler, Saunders, Seward, Lancaster, Saline, Jefferson and Gage Counties are all under a red flag warning until 8:00 PM CT Tuesday.

Relative humidity will be as low as 16 percent, with winds gusting as high as 35 mph, creating heightened fire risk.

Any fires that ignite may spread rapidly and exhibit extreme fire behavior. Use extreme caution if engaging in any activities that could start a fire. Outdoor burning is not advisable.
