Antelope County Attorney offers updates after weekend incident near Neligh

A female suspect and a Neligh law enforcement officer have been identified after a weekend incident in Antelope County that left both injured.

NELIGH, Neb. -- A female suspect and a Neligh law enforcement officer have been identified after a weekend incident in Antelope County that left both injured.

According to Antelope County Attorney Joseph E.W. Abler, 47-year-old Neligh Police Chief Michael Wright was treated for injuries after he was reportedly dragged by a vehicle driven by 38-year-old Josie Auld, of Norfolk. Auld was treated for injuries after Wright fired his gun, striking Auld.

Abler says the investigation by the Nebraska State Patrol remains ongoing.

The incident occurred on Highway 275 near the west end of Neligh on Sunday.
