LINCOLN, Neb. -- A 34-year-old man has been arrested in connection to a fatal stabbing in Lincoln.

Steven Alexander was arrested Tuesday, Lincoln Police announced. He is charged with 1st-degree assault, manslaughter and use of a weapon to commit a felony in connection to the July 1 stabbing death of 26-year-old Austin Gress.

According to LPD, Alexander was found Tuesday morning in an apartment on N. 31st Street and Folkways Boulevard. LPD said Alexander was arrested without incident.

LPD investigators say that Gress was stabbed multiple times, including in the upper chest, in a fight
behind a convenience store on N 27th St. The entire fight was captured on nearby video surveillance.

Gress died at the scene.
