NORFOLK, Neb. -- An 8th annual community festival was held in a northeast Nebraska town on Saturday.

‘Fork Fest’ was held at Liberty Bell Park in Norfolk to celebrate all of the things that drive the Norfolk area.

The festival that’s run by members of the Norfolk Arts Center featured live music, dozens of different vendors with food and items, a beer garden, and more.

Elley Coffin, who is the program coordinator for the arts center, said she's expecting the event to bring in over a thousand people this year.

“We’re expecting 1,500 today,” Coffin said. “It’ll be a good turnout. This is our first day having it on a Saturday all day long and in the fall. Everybody loves fall so we wanted to throw a nice fall event for Norfolk.”

Coffin said the event has grown substantially since it was created eight years ago.

“Oh my gosh so much,” Coffin said. “Today we have about 30 vendors with us and that doesn’t even count our food trucks and so that is a great number for us to see.”

The event will also feature Nebraska football taking on Purdue on a big screen. The event will run from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m.
