OPD investigates afternoon shooting that left one dead

OMAHA, Neb. -- Authorities in the metro area are investigating a shooting that resulted in a homicide Wednesday afternoon. 

The Omaha Police Homicide Unit is investigating a homicide that happened in the area of 2700 N 48th St. 

Omaha Police Department said officers responded to a shooting that happened just after 3 p.m.

It was reported by OPD that at the location they found a male, 19-year-old Sincere Brooks suffering from what looked to be a gunshot wound. 

OPD said Omaha Fire Department medics declared the male dead at the scene. 

This is an ongoing investigation.
