NORFOLK, Neb. -- 94 Rock has partnered with local sponsors United Healthcare, Allo, and Kayton International, in addition to News Channel Nebraska, to put on this year's "We've Got You Covered" event.

"We've Got You Covered" is an event lasting from Nov. 14 until Dec. 16 to help gather donations for the children and food pantries in local communities.

Flood Communications' general manger, Jessica Walker, said it's great to see people lend a warm hand.

"We have donation boxes set up in various businesses throughout northeast Nebraska, where people can donate coats, hats, mittens, boots, and anything like that," Walker said. "The last couple of years we've added non-perishable foods items."

Walker said the goal is to have at least one business per town participate and carry a donation box to help its community members in need during the holiday season.

Walker said there's a special feeling to helping care for every kid.

"It is so humbling when you deliver these things to the schools and you see the relief on the faces of the teachers and the administration because they have so many kids that they know go hungry or don't have a winter coat," Walker said. "So they are so appreciative."

Donations will be delivered to local schools and community food pantries just in time for the upcoming Christmas holiday.
