Michael Shively named Vice President of News and Content at News Channel Nebraska

A lifelong Nebraskan and award-winning journalist, Shively brings years of experience in storytelling, broadcasting, and newsroom leadership to his new role.
Shively, a graduate of Lincoln East High School and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, has held nearly every broadcast role in television and radio throughout his career. Since joining News Channel Nebraska in 2016 as a reporter in Norfolk, he has taken on several leadership positions, including evening anchor, assignment editor, radio news anchor, Southeast Nebraska Content Director, and most recently, Director of News and Content for the Tri-Cities.
As Vice President of News and Content, Shively will oversee all news and sports content across News Channel Nebraska’s television, digital, and radio platforms. His responsibilities include managing English and Spanish language brands, leading newsroom operations, expanding the network’s digital reach, and ensuring the delivery of trusted, high-quality journalism across Nebraska. Michael will be based in Norfolk, NE.

Outside of the newsroom, Shively enjoys fishing, hunting, and cheering on the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Currently, he lives in Kearney with his wife, Kailey, and their dog, Stella.
