WINNEBAGO, Neb. -- A sexual abuse of a minor charge puts a Winnebago man in prison for over 11 years.

U.S. Attorney Steven Russell said 39-year-old Robert McClelland, of Winnebago, was sentenced on Jan. 30. He was charged with sexual abuse of a minor and will serve 11 years and three months in prison with a ten-year term of supervised release after. There is no parole in the federal system.

According to court documents, the minor victim reported in May 2020 that when she was 5- or 6-years-old, McClelland made her engage in inappropriate actions. When she asked McClelland to stop, he did. McClelland later admitted to the crime after he was interviewed by investigators.

This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
