NSP responds to more than 250 weather-related incidents Thursday
LINCOLN, Neb. -- Authorities respond to hundreds of weather-related incidents Thursday.
The Nebraska State Patrol said troopers responded to more than 250 weather-related incidents during a winter storm.
The strong winter storm affected many areas of Nebraska on, and NSP said troopers performed 249 motorist assists and responded to 20 crashes with the majority happening in the eastern part of the state.
NSP said there were no-life threatening injuries reported in the crashes that they investigated.
"This storm brought some higher-than-expected snowfall totals in areas that usually get heavy traffic,"said Col. John Bolduc, superintended on the NSP. "While our troopers did respond to a high number of motorist assists, the number of property damage or injury crashes was kept low thanks to many people making the decision to stay off the roads."
Troopers reported some slick spots remaining in the snow-affected areas this morning. Check Nebraska511 for road conditions.
