OMAHA, Neb. -- History was made in the final game of the state soccer tournament.

Creighton Prep knocked off defending champion Gretna, 2-1, to claim the Class A boys crown.

The Junior Jays' victory marks the 10th state title for Creighton Prep, the most of any soccer program in Nebraska history. Prep's last title came in 2017.

Owen Glogowski gave the Junior Jays the lead they would never give up in the 28th minute.

Jacob Hove scored the second goal for Prep two minutes into the second half.

Gretna's Brett Perkins cut Prep's lead in half with 25 minutes to play, but Gretna was unable to find the equalizer.
