NPD: Norfolk man arrested for alleged threats with cell phone cord, licking arresting officer
NORFOLK, Neb. -- A 25-year-old northeast Nebraska man is accused of threatening another man with a phone charging cord and licking an officer during his arrest.
Early Wednesday morning, Norfolk Police officers were called to a home in the 1200 block of Madison Avenue for a reported disturbance.
When officers arrived, a man told them that another man living at the home had picked up a phone charging cord and threatened to choke him with it.
NPD officers spoke with the suspect, identified as 25-year-old Daniel Vinson, inside the home. According to Norfolk Police Capt. Michael Bauer, officers on scene believed Vinson was under the influence of alcohol. Officers also reportedly spoke to a witness who saw an argument between the two men.
Officers placed Vinson under arrest.
After being handcuffed, the officer was attempting to remove a necklace from Vinson, according to Bauer. During this process, Bauer said, Vinson turned his head and licked the officer's hand.
Vinson was arrested for terroristic threats and assault with a bodily fluid against a peace officer. He was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
