Right at Home thanks community for business, celebrates four year anniversary
NORFOLK, Neb. — Four years ago, Jeremy and Kristin Starkel had one client in Norfolk when they began the business. On the four-year anniversary, Right at Home serves northeast and central Nebraska and the owners believe the name is the perfect description of their services.
“We wanted to give back to Nebraskans, if you will," Jeremy Starkel said. "And that’s an important mission of ours; is to help seniors to continue to live independently in their own homes as long as they possibly can.”
To celebrate the four-year anniversary, the business held a celebration at their office that ran from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Friday.
Norfolk residents and businesses celebrated with games, raffles, and a silent auction.
As the celebrations went on, Jeremy Starkel thought back to the first year in business and remembered being in business during the pandemic.
“We were able to still go and help people in their homes, and I think that was an eye-opening experience for a lot of people because they realized that there is an alternative to assisted livings and nursing homes,” Jeremy Starkel said. “We can actually come to you.”
According to the pair, the business provides meals, transportation, at-home needs, and physical tasks to the elderly and those needing help at home.
The business has expanded to over 300 employees in offices located throughout the state.
Jeremy Starkel has a personal reason as to why the business started and why he thought the business would be helpful to people.
“My mom was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer about six years ago and it was a lot of hard work,” Jeremy Starkey said. “If we would have known back then for services like this, we would absolutely utilize Right at Home. But that was a big motivator for us to get into this industry.”
According to Jeremy and Kristin, the proceeds raised from the raffles and silent auctions will be given to the Norfolk Senior Center.
The pair wanted to thank the sponsors in the Norfolk Community for the raffle prizes and silent auction items.
