HOMER, Neb. -- Nebraska's young golfers have re-established superiority in their rivalry with Kansas.

After a dominant opening day at the Kansas-Nebraska Junior Cup on Tuesday in Homer, the Nebraska squad quickly put a bow on the title Wednesday morning.

Omaha Westside's Porter Topp forced a tie in his singles match, which locked up the victory for Nebraska before lunchtime Wednesday.

It ends a three-year reign by the Kansas squad.

Nebraska won the overall competition, 12-8, which was just shy of the all-time record for largest margin of victory.
