NORFOLK, Neb. -- On Sunday night the Elkhorn Valley Museum put on their annual Tour of Historic Homes and Verges Holiday Festival.

Festivities took place at 1:00 p.m. with a cocoa and cookie reception. The event also included wine and beer tasting.

Museum Executive Director Libby McKay was happy to bring everyone together for the holidays.

"It's just a nice way to sort of, it's chilly a evening but not bad, not intolerable," McKay said. "I think that evergreen is probably one of the biggest ones in our park, and so you can kind of see it from all over. So, I think even if somebody wasn't able to make it to the lighting itself tonight, I think it is something that can be sort of appreciated throughout the community."

Along with the tree being lit in Verges Park, there was a performance from the Holiday Jam Band. The event had quite the turnout for those in Norfolk.
