Authorities investigate alleged O'Neill shooting

O'NEILL, Neb. -- A 19-year-old man from Elgin has been arrested following an alleged shooting at Nekolite Construction on Friday.
The Holt County Sheriff's Office said that they are investigating the incident in conjunction with the O'Neill Police Department.
Around 9:39 p.m., OPD said they were called to Pump and Pantry for a male acting suspicious and armed with a possible handgun.
At this time, the Sheriff's Office was called to assist.
Officers said when they arrived, they found a man outside of the store.
After speaking with the man, a .22 caliber revolver was found on his person.
Officials identified the man as 19-year-old Shayd Rokahr of Elgin.
During the investigation, it was found that an alleged physical altercation happened just outside city limits between Rokahr and another 19-year-old man at Nekolite Construction.
The 19-year-old was allegedly shot in the leg by the revolver that Rokahr had brought with him.
The 19-year-old was taken to a local hospital by family and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Rokahr was taken to the hospital for minor injuries that he got during the alleged altercation.
Once Rokahr was released from the hospital, he was arrested and booked into the Holt County Jail.
Rokahr was arrested for second-degree assault, use of a weapon to commit a felony, possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person/minor, terroristic threats, and criminal mischief.
He is currently being held for a $500,000 bond.
OPD said they will not be releasing the identity of the 19-year-old at this time.
This is an ongoing investigation.
