STANTON, Neb. -- A man is in custody after an early morning accident in northeast Nebraska.

The Stanton County Sheriff's Office said a patrol vehicle had discovered a vehicle just before 1 a.m. Tuesday.

The car had rolled at least twice off of Highway 24, near Stanton.

The driver, 38-year-old Brandon Kluender of Stanton, was found unconscious and was extricated from the vehicle.

Kluender was treated at the scene by Stanton EMS, declined further medical care and was then placed under arrest for DWI.

He later provided a breath sample, which was more than twice the legal limit.

He was booked for aggravated driving while intoxicated third-offense. He was later released after posting a cash bond.

Seatbelts were said to be in use and multiple airbags deployed, which SCSO said is credited with lessening any injuries.

The vehicle was considered a total loss.
