Newspaper editor dies due to injuries from crash

63-year-old Jay Prauner has died following injuries he'd gotten from a car accident Jan. 16.

NORFOLK, Neb. -- 63-year-old Jay Prauner has died following injuries he'd gotten from a car accident Jan. 16. 

According to posts on social media, Prauner died over the weekend.

Prauner was the managing editor at the Norfolk Daily News. The newspaper says he started with them in their sports department in 1986. He worked sports editor for the paper beginning in 1996 and served in that roled for 23 years.

Prauner's obituary says his memorial service will be held Feb. 3 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Norfolk.
