ALLIANCE, Neb. — The National Weather Service in Cheyenne has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for parts of the Nebraska Panhandle and Niobrara County, Wyoming, with snowfall expected to impact the region beginning Sunday.
The advisory goes into effect at 11 a.m. Sunday and lasts until 11 a.m. Monday, covering Dawes, Box Butte and Sioux counties in Nebraska, as well as Niobrara County in Wyoming. Forecasters predict snow accumulations between 2 and 6 inches, which could create hazardous travel conditions.
Motorists should prepare for slippery roads and reduced visibility, particularly during the Monday morning commute. The National Weather Service urges drivers to slow down and use caution while traveling.
This system is part of a broader winter storm pattern, with additional light snow and bitterly cold temperatures expected Monday through Wednesday across the High Plains.
