HARTINGTON - Cedar Catholic and Sutton dueled toe-to-toe for 3-and-a-half quarters, but dominant defense and big buckets down the stretch helped the Trojans pull away and win their C2 District Final 63-50.

The Mustangs kept it close for most of the contest, trailing by 2 at the end of the 1st and 2nd quarters. Aidan Jones and Peyton Reed each poured in 14 for Sutton, as they closed gaps of 7 points twice in the 1st half.

But it was too much Nolan Becker in the 2nd half, as the Cedar senior finished with 26, leading all scorers. Jacob Steffen came off the bench to score 7 and grab a handful of big rebounds, and Aaron Wortmann chipped in 10 points as well.

After Sutton had narrowed an 11-point 4th quarter Trojan lead down to 4, Cedar's Mason Baller hit a big 3 and sparked a tremendous Trojan run, which included steals on 3 straight possessions, leading to transition buckets that closed out the Mustangs.

Cedar Catholic (21-6) heads to State, while Sutton finishes the year at 19-7.
