Norfolk superintendent hired by Rapid City school board

The Rapid City School Board in South Dakota voted on Tuesday on a six-to-one vote to hire Dr. Jami Jo Thompson as their superintendent beginning with the 2025-26 school year.

NORFOLK, Neb. - A Class A school district in Nebraska is on the hunt for new leadership.

The Rapid City School Board in South Dakota voted on Tuesday on a six-to-one vote to hire Dr. Jami Jo Thompson as their superintendent beginning with the 2025-26 school year.

Thompson is currently the superintendent in the Norfolk Public School District, a position she's held since taking over for Marlene Uhing in 2013.

Prior to moving to Norfolk, Thompson worked as a special education instructor and administrator in Beatrice.

The Norfolk Public School Board will be tasked with hiring Thompson's replacement. Their next meeting is scheduled for March 24th.
